OPT -Super Hair Removal
Optimum Pulse Light (OPT) is an advanced and improved version of Intense Pulse Light (IPL). OPT SHR Laser is a new technology of permanent hair removal which is having a sweeping success. The machine is heating the dermis to a target temperature gradually, at that target temperature, it damages the hair follicles and prevents their re-growth effectively, meanwhile avoiding injury to the surrounding tissue around the hair follicles. The cooling system can make sure that treatment more safe and painless. It would be fair to say that you will require at least 4 -6 (+ ) treatments, one month apart to obtain the best results.
SUGGESTED INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE TREATMENT:
-
Avoid waxing, tweezing, threading, or depilatory use for 1-2 weeks
-
Avoid exfoliating agents in the area 10 days prior to treatment.
-
You MUST avoid plucking or waxing hair for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment. The melanin-containing hair must be present in the follicle as it is the “target” for the laser.
-
If you have had a history of herpes simplex virus ( cold sore), you may need to take antiviral medications.
-
If you have a tan or have a darker skin type, a brightening skincare regimen may be started 2-4 weeks before treatment.
-
RECENTLY TANNED SKIN CANNOT BE TREATED! If treated within 2 weeks of active (natural sunlight or tanning booth) tanning, you may develop hypopigmentation (white spots) after treatment and this may not clear for 2-3 months or more.
-
Shave the desired treatment area the night before OPT SHR Laser Hair Removal treatment. No deodorant, creams, oils, perfumes, etc. on the area prior to treatment. To manage hair growth before your treatment, shave to remove the hair above the skin only. Although it may seem strange to shave right before OPT SHR Laser Hair Removal treatment, it’s an important step in the process: the laser targets hair in the actively growing stage, and shaving encourages hair to enter this stage.
POST-TREATMENT CARE:
-
The areas treated with the OPT SHR Laser device may be red following treatment. This will generally fade within 2-3 days.
-
Avoid vigorous exercise for 12 – 24 hours subsequent to treatments
-
Skin Care Products: All of your skincare products should be non-irritating and non-clogging for the first week. Please do not use any scrubs, toners, glycolic acid, retinoids (RetinA or retinol), until your skin has settled.
-
Your skin might develop red bumps, this will look like growth but is simply the body’s way of eliminating the hair from the injured follicle. No exercise until perifollicular edema (red bumps) resolves
-
No Jacuzzi, sauna, or steam baths until the skin is back to normal.
-
Use a high SPF factor sunscreen ( 50 +) when exposed to the sun between / and after treatments.
-
Cool any areas which remain warm after treatment with cooling aloe vera gels, cold compresses, or frozen gel packs.
-
Discontinue sunbed use and self-tanning products.
-
Do not wax or tweeze treatment sites between hair removal treatments. Shave if you need.
-
Avoid extremely hot baths, whirlpools, saunas, or heavily chlorinated swimming pools for 24-48 hours subsequent to treatments. Avoid strong deodorants subsequent to hair reduction treatment of the underarms.
